When is eye surgery the best and right choice?

Many people around the world struggle to accept the fact that they need surgery for their condition. It’s nothing unusual, to begin with, as it is a normal and natural reaction of many. However, the fear of surgery goes much deeper into one’s core, and it can have adverse effects on one’s wellbeing, especially if they are facing a somewhat complicated surgery. The critical thing to remember is that modern technology allows us to push through it with minimal side-effects, consequences, and complications. In other words, if you’re one of those individuals who aren’t comfortable with accepting the fact that they need surgery, take a moment and check out some of the reasoning behind it and when it is the right choice for you. Traditional Eye Surgery During traditional surgery, a surgeon will make a small incision on the side of your cornea with a scalpel blade. Subsequently, they will insert an instrument behind your pupil through the incision. Then, a circular opening is made in the lens capsule before the surgeon inserts a special probe that emits sound waves to shatter the center of the lens before suctioning the microscopic residue out of your eye. Where’s the Best Place to Find Doctor Reviews?

Finding a good physician is a difficult process. If you’re like most people,

Finding a good physician is a difficult process. If you’re like most people, you’d like to see a doctor with a good bedside manner and (more importantly) lots of experience. But it’s not as easy as it sounds, especially with the growing physician shortage in the US. Several factors go into deciding if a doctor is right for you. For example, if you have specific health needs, you have to find a provider who practices in that field. Or if you’d like to find a physician who can treat your entire family, you want to find one who treats people of all ages. Whatever your particular health care needs may be, you want to vet your choices carefully. Ask your friends A great way to get doctor reviews is to ask your circle of friends. They know you best and will know what qualities to tell you about and who to recommend. But don’t limit it to just your inner circle. Ask anyone you talk to regularly at your hair salon or your kids’ school. And also get your friends to check with their own friends and coworkers to see which physicians they have seen and who they recommend. Look […]

U.S. Approves First Anti-Flu Pill in Two Decades

U.S. health regulators have approved the first new type of flu drug in two decades. Xofluza has developed the Roche Group and Shionogi & Co. for people aged 12 and older. What makes the drug stand out is its ability to reduce the severity and shorten the duration of flu symptoms after just one dose. And it’s just as potent as Roche’s older flu treatment, Tamiflu, which needs to be taken twice daily for five days. The company plans to launch Xofluza within a few weeks for the price of $150 price without insurance. “This is the first new antiviral flu treatment with a novel mechanism of action approved by the FDA in nearly 20 years,” said Scott Gottlieb, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The drug was tested on over 1,000 people who said their flu symptoms drastically diminished within the recommended 48 hours from taking it. Relenza inhalers and Rapivab injections also are available for treating the flu. Even with more FDA approved antiviral drugs to treat the flu, the yearly vaccine remains “the primary means of preventing and controlling flu outbreaks,” Gottlieb said. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends people get vaccinated […]
