Get To Know About Boils And Be Free From It Today

What Is a Boil? A boil is a skin infection that starts in a hair follicle or oil gland. Also referred to as a skin abscess, it is a localized infection deep in the skin. Boils can be as small as a pea or as large as a golf ball and can develop on any part of the body. A boil generally starts as a reddened, tender area. Over time, the area becomes firm and hard. Eventually, the center of the abscess softens and becomes filled with infection-fighting white blood cells that the body sends via the bloodstream to eradicate the infection. This collection of white blood cells, bacteria, and proteins is known as pus. Finally, the pus “forms a head,” which can be surgically opened or spontaneously drain out through the surface of the skin. Boil Symptoms A boil starts as a hard, red, painful lump usually less than an inch in size. Over the next few days, the lump becomes softer, larger, and more painful. Soon a pocket of pus forms on the top of the boil. Signs of a severe infection are ; The skin around the boil becomes red, painful, and swollen; More boils may appear around […]

Things You Never Knew About The Sperm

The average volume of a sperm sample produced is 3ml ( Most men are surprised by this- A tea spoon is 5ml!). It takes 2 months to make sperm. With every ejaculation, men produce around 200 million sperm cells Defects to sperm can occur in any of the sex cell’s three parts: the head, midpiece (the neck) or the tail, or a combination of these. For instance, a defective sperm could have double heads, small or oversized head, a bent neck, thin midpiece, a tail that’s bent, broken or coiled, or multiple tails. The term sperm is derived from the Greek word (σπέρμα) sperma (meaning “seed”) Inside a woman’s body, sperm can live for up to five days depending on the conditions. The largest cell in the human body is the female egg, whereas one of the smallest is the sperm cell. Sperm was first discovered in 1677 by a Dutch microscope maker The first successful artificial insemination of a woman was recorded in 1790, the renowned Scottish anatomist and surgeon, Dr. John Hunter, reported that he had successfully inseminated the wife of a linen draper, using her husband’s sperm.

How Red Wine Helps To Prevent Heart Disease

Red wine contains a compound called resveratrol, which could reduce the risk of heart disease by changing the gut microbiome, according to research published in mBio.   Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the US and other industrialized countries, and it is fast becoming a major health problem in developing countries, too. Recent research into the gut microbiome suggests that it holds the key to many health issues, and now it appears that it could have an impact on the development of atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis occurs when plaque, which consists of fat, cholesterol, calcium and other substances, accumulates in the arteries. In time, the plaque hardens, restricting the arteries and limiting the flow of oxygen-rich blood. This can lead to heart attack, stroke, vascular dementia and even death. Atherosclerosis can also affect the arms and legs, the pelvis and the kidneys, and it can lead to a range diseases involving the arteries. Resveratrol is a plant compound that occurs naturally in peanuts, grapes, red wine and some berries. It is a polyphenol, believed to have antioxidant properties that may protect against conditions such as heart disease, cancer and neurogenerative diseases. How resveratrol protects Researchers, led by […]
